Pirates of the Caribbean

Daisy's story is below the poster.

Daisy was initially reluctant to appear in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie because of her natural aversion to water and because of battle scenes with booming cannons. However, she learned that her role as Will Turner's (Orlando Bloom) cat would not require her to be on a ship in the ocean and she would not be in any of the battle scenes. All she would have to do would be to hiss at and distract whoever was having a sword duel with Bloom, and to purr whenever he was with Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley). And filming in locations such as St. Vincent, the Bahamas, and Disneyland's "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride itself, was a plus.

The Black Pearl was built on a dock with computer-generated imagery finishing the appearance of the ship. Although they built a ship that was a fully functional only six days of the film's six-month production were actually shot at sea. Some of the other the water scenes were filmed in a studio lot's water tank, and Daisy wasn't involved.

Daisy had several non-human costars. The monkey "Jack" was played by two capuchin monkeys, a 10-year old female named Tara and an 8-year old male named Levi. They were naturals. In the scene where the monkey hands the Aztec coin to Barbossa and Barbossa thanks it, the monkey smiles, which was nicely ad-libbed by the monkey.

The parrot that talks for the pirate Cotton was played by two parrots, Chip and Salsa. Chip performed most of the scenes where the parrot was required to sit patiently on a character's shoulder while Salsa performed most of the tricks and action scenes including flying.

Daisy, having appeared in many films before, was an accomplished actress and didn't need a double for any of her scenes.
