Daisy's story is below the poster.

The opportunity to act in a film with Omar Sharif was too great of an opportunity for Daisy to pass up.

Although her role called for her to be with Peter O'Toole in the majority of her scenes, she avoided him off of the set because of his heavy drinking. She rehearsed almost exclusively with Sharif. She also spent time with Jack Hawkins and grew to like him, finding him and his character Allenby very likable.

Scenes with O'Toole riding on the camel were a challenge, and she quickly learned to avoid being anywhere near those beasts. That concern was realized during one scene when a prop gun used to signal action in a first take went off too early causing the camel to panic and throw O'Toole and Daisy to the ground in front of charging horses. Fortunately, the camel was well trained for such situations and stood over O'Toole and Daisy to protect them from being trampled.

David Lean had intended to shoot the film in Jordan, but that became so expensive that the movie had to move to Spain. That was where Dr. Zhivago was also shot, so it was a bonus for Daisy because the movie sets as well as the times off of the set were familiar. And, there weren't a lot of camels in Spain.
