Hocus Pocus

Daisy's story is below the poster.

The movie was filmed over the course of five months. Daytime scenes are filmed in Salem and Marblehead, Massachusetts, while the other scenes were filmed on sound stages in and around Burbank, California. Since the witches were mostly active at night, that meant that all of Daisy's scenes were on familiar sound stages in California.

Daisy was one of ten cats to appear in Hocus Pocus. The other nine were all black cats that shared the role of Binx. The crew would chose which of those cats to feature in each scene based on their specialized training: one swatted, one slept, one purred, one cuddled, and so on. There was also a puppet black cat and an animatronics black cat.

While the Binx cat character was scripted to help the children, Daisy's role was to aid the witches, and unlike all of the black cats, she did all of her own stunts.

It was fun to play a villain with the Sanderson sisters: Winifred (Bette Midler), Mary (Kathy Najimy), and Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker).

The flying scenes were the most interesting while they all were suspended in their harnesses. Midler rode a broom, Parker a mop, and Najimy a vacuum cleaner. Daisy had her own vehicle - a toilet brush. Daisy was much happier when her role had her on solid ground. Parker, however, felt the harness was so comfortable that she stayed suspended between scenes, reading a New York Times that she had secreted in her costume.
