The Godfather

Daisy's story is below the poster.

The The Godfather film had many last minute changes to the script and scenes due to actor demands plus contract obligations and scheduling conflicts with the numerous actors and extras. Daisy wasn't sure what to make of Marlon Brando's reputation as a method actor, but he was very nice during his scenes with her. All she needed to do was purr on cue when he stroked her fur.

One of the most notable changes in the script involved the scene where a recalcitrant movie producer wakes up with his horse's severed head next to him in his bed. In the original screenplay, that was to be the family cat, but Daisy had insisted that no cat in the movie could be depicted in a negative manner nor would there be any suggestion of cat violence or abuse in the script. So the script was altered.

Working with Brando was an interesting experience for Daisy. He was very into his character and quite professional while the cameras were rolling. He was much warner and friendly off camera while on the set, although occasionally he was a little enigmatic when he was away from the set, wearing just blue jeans and a white t-shirt, appearing to be staring off into the distance and looking up. And he kept calling her 'Stella.'
